Mother is a trendy cocktail bar located in the heart of the entertainment district of Downtown Toronto. Situated right beside the Trinity-Bellwoods Park, this boutique venue is constantly filled with guests from the neighbourhood and tourist visitors. Run by three young and energetic professionals, the team aimed for a bar that speaks to the exuberant crowd of the metropolitans, an atmosphere of modern, nature, with a touch of nostalgia.

The historic row of townhouses was constructed in the late 1880s. Most of the properties on the strip have commercial storefronts on the ground floor with 2 levels of residential units on top. To contrast with the rusty red bricks of the building exterior, Mother’s storefront is made of large white oak wood panels and custom made wood slats. Its modern design makes a distinct statement from the rest of the street and building. With the wood slats preventing a direct view into the bar, the storefront creates a curious yet mysterious venture for pedestrians and visitors.
