RYERSON REZ

Program: Residential, Mixed use

Location: Toronto, Canada

Organization: Ryerson University

Size: 314 K ft2

Status: Proposal

As a mixed use complex, the building has incorporated a range of facilities other than residential to suite the needs of different student groups. These programs include a fitness center, a swimming pool, a clinic office, and a number of lounges. All programs are categorized under either “active” or “dormant”, and are separately located under each wing. Each floor has an "active" side and a "dormant" side. Habitants could experience the building as two separate identities by traveling vertically to other floors, or as an integrated system by traveling horizontally on one particular floor.
